The Centre for Geoinformatics at Salzburg University and the Institute for GIScience, Austrian Academy of Sciences offer an annual forum to the worldwide geoinformatics community, bringing together English-speaking researchers and practitioners across disciplines and industries. At the same time the Geoinformatics Forum Salzburg (GI_Forum 2010) connects participants into a well established co-located regional symposium – Applied Geoinformatics (AGIT) – sharing the state-of-the-art AGIT-EXPO exhibit.
GI_Forum 2010 focuses on an international audience that shares an interest in applied Geoinformatics. We successfully attracted researchers who design, develop and apply advanced methods and techniques of Geoinformatics in a broad range of application domains. In the GI_Forum 2010 proceedings the contributions focus on the following topics:
- GIScience – Concepts and Ontologies
- Advances in Spatial Analysis, Geovisualization and Cartography
- Spatial Data Infrastructure
- Mobile GIS and Location Based Services
- Digital Terrain Representation and Analysis
- Vulnerability: Spatial Assessment and Analysis
Already for the fourth year in a row we succeeded to attract a number of contributions specifically pertaining to themes of Monitoring and Modelling Global Change, Digital Cities and Sustainable Urban Environments.
