Abstract:
This paper reviews a fault diagnosis technique, which efficiently localizes a fault in resistive networks and identifies the corresponding fault characteristic. This technique makes use of recently published diagnosis networks for the calculation of possible fault characteristics. While the theoretical foundation of these diagnosis networks also offers deep insight into dc-fault diagnosis in general, this work focuses on a practical implementation of these networks in standard circuit simulators. The validity of the approach is demonstrated on a commonly used building block for integrated analog circuits, namely a band gap reference voltage source.
