Abstract:
We propose a novel optical 90deg hybrid employing a paired-interference 2×4 MMI coupler where no waveguide intersection in coupling to photo detectors is required. The proposed device exhibited 90º hybrid response with low phase deviation (|Deltaphi|<5deg) over 94-nm-wide spectral range.
