Abstract:

This paper presents a solution to reduce common mode current generation in the low frequency range (from switching frequency up to few MHz). It is based on an active solution, which only uses the components that are present in power modules. The principle is simply to generate a common mode current, opposite to the one generated from the power module. Simulation and experimental results validate the concept, which may be very interesting for embedded applications, where volume and weight are especially constrained.
