Abstract:

The paper deals with high-resolution short range radar based on an ultra-wideband pseudo-noise approach. It operates in the frequency band 1-13 GHz. The structure of the radar device is introduced and key parameters determining the achievable resolution are considered. Two application scenarios are considered. One relates to super- resolution imaging for medical purposes. The second example concerns non-destructive testing in civil engineering exemplified by salt-mine investigations.
