Abstract:
Radon transform has been validated as an effective ship wake detection method. Considered on the impact of speckle noises, this paper proposes an enhancing normalized radon transform method to detect ship wakes in SAR imagery. The improved method enhances dark wakes firstly, and then radon transformed data is normalized by a normalization matrix. Preliminary results illustrates that the proposed algorithm improves ship wake detection performance in SAR imagery, especially for dark wakes.
