Dieses Werk beinhaltet die Tagungsbeiträge der internationalen Fachtagung „Digital Landscape Architecture 2015“, die vom 04. bis zum 06. Juni 2015 an der Hochschule Anhalt in Dessau stattfinden wird.
Die ca. 50 Fachbeiträge (mehrheitlich in Englisch) befassen sich mit folgenden Schwerpunkten: Systemdenken in der Landschaftsplanung und im Design, GeoDesign, Landschaftsinformationsmodell und Lehre mit Geodesign-Instrumenten.
Der Band wendet sich an Praktiker, Wissenschaftler und Studierende in den Bereichen Landschaftsarchitektur, Geoinformatik, Geowissenschaften sowie im gesamten Planungs-, Bau- und Umweltbereich.
Prof. Erich Buhmann holds a bachelor degree in Landscape Architecture from Munich-Weihenstephan and a MLA as Fulbright Scholar from SUNY Syracuse in the USA. He was appointed Professor at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in 1995 and served as founding director of the English language Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) program from 1998- 2008. As a registered landscape architect, he is a partner in the landscape architecture firm ATELIER BERNBURG Landschaftsarchitekten GmbH. From 1995 to 2005 he co-authored the annual GIS Report for the German speaking part of Europe. He is the founding chair of the annual international Conference on Digital Landscape Architecture which started in 1999. Erich Buhmann is a member of the ECLAS Steering Committee, and Chair of the ECLAS Committee Digital Technology, Co-Chair of the ECLAS- IFLA Committee Accreditation System, and Manager for the BDLA in the State of Saxony-Anhalt in Germany.
Stephen M. Ervin, MLA, PhD, FASLA is Director of Computer Resources and Assistant Dean for Information Technology at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and a Lecturer in the Department of Landscape Architecture. Ervin teaches and conducts research in the areas of design, computing, media and technology, with a special interest in landscape modeling and visualization, and the emergent topic of GeoDesign. He is the co-author of "Landscape Modeling: Digital Techniques for Landscape Visualization" by McGraw-Hill (ASLA Merit award winner in 2002). Ervin has taught and lectured worldwide and published articles in a number of journals. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and holds a MLA degree from the University of Massachusetts and a PhD in Urban Studies from MIT.
Dr. Matthias Pietsch graduated with a first degree in Landscape Architecture from Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in 1997. He received his UNIGIS Master in GIS at the University of Salzburg at 2002 and his doctoral degree in 2014 at the Technical University of Dresden. He is teaching GIS-applications in environmental planning and landscape planning at Anhalt University, University of Potsdam and Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. Since 1998 he has been working as a registered landscape architect for different firms as an environmental planner and GIS consultant. He joined Anhalt University in 2004, and is a senior research assistant at the affiliated Prof. Hellriegel Institute.
