VDE 0800-260 (VDE 0800-260):2026-11

Ankündigungstext Englisch: This VDE-Guideline is based on collaboration between educational institutions, associations, and trainers from the fiber optic expansion and telecommunications industries. The aim of this VDE-Guideline is to harmonize the qualification of personnel for working with fibre optic products. There are many different concepts and offerings, but there is currently little comparability between the wide range of seminars and training courses available on the market. In addition, the industry complains about a lack of skilled workers for expansion. This document, entitled “Guidelines and qualification model for Broadband – Basic module for fibre optic technology” consists of: – Curriculum; – Requirements for instructors; – Requirements for educational institutions; – Theoretical and practical testing regulations. The training qualifies the person to act as a client representative to ensure that the client's interests are protected and that the applicable rules and standards are complied with. Participants should be able to handle contracts and quality standards with confidence, recognize potential conflicts between those involved in the construction process, and initiate follow-up measures. This should enable any construction defects and contract deviations to be identified and avoided. This document, entitled “Guidelines and qualification schemes Broadband – Part 260: Infrastructure specialist for construction property management and supervision”, is used by training institutions as a template for the development of a corresponding seminar. The content corresponds to the contents of the guide: “Qualification of workers for fibre optic expansion – Infrastructure specialists for fiber optic technology” of the Skilled Workers Initiative for Fibre Optic Expansion (FKGA).
