This VDE application guide contains minimum requirements for environments in order to introduce a trustworthy charge authorization code into an electric mobility supply system. Organisational measures for identifying the bill debtor are not within the scope of this VDE application guide. The term minimum requirement here means that further requirements may result from technical rules and legal regulations.
This VDE application guide therefore deals specifically with secure and interoperable authentication on electric mobility supply systems for the "remote via back-end system" and "RFID transponder" applications. It does not make any requirements for environments that are connected with the guarantee of data protection.
The specific requirements for the implementation of Plug & Charge functionalities in supply systems, which are described in ISO 15118 or comparable procedures, which in particular enable authentication directly via the vehicle, are explicitly not dealt with again in this VDE application guide.
Further procedures (such as two-factor authentication) are not considered further in this edition of the application guide.
This VDE application guide with two appendices provides concrete implementation options for a symmetrical and an asymmetrical procedure. In addition, existing EMC-based payment services can be operated in conformity with the requirements of the main part of this application guide.
