This VDE application guide describes basic requirements for a test method for the characterization of solar cells or modules for “Light and elevated Temperature Induced Degradation” (LeTID). The test method is applicable to all silicon-based PV modules and cells. It is particularly relevant for Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact (PERC) cells and modules as they exhibit an increased LeTID sensitivity.
