Abstract:
The paper presents an overview about new technologies to increase the power density of power supplies. Technology trends of active and passive components will be shown. As example for future high density topologies the so called resonant converters will be presented. Based on a half-bridge converter their principle will be explained. An overview about the embedded usage of Computational Fluid Dynamics for optimized cooling of electronic equipment will be given.
