Abstract:
Linear precoding has already been demonstrated to efficiently exploit frequency and time diversity when associated with OFDM. Recently applied to MIMO systems, linear precoding can also improve performance by bringing channel realization diversity in addition to the spatial diversity. In this paper, iterative receivers are proposed in order to provide near optimal performance owing to an efficient combination of deprecoding, spatial decoding and channel decoding in an iterative way. The proposed scheme can be applied to several transmit schemes depending on the diversity to be exploited and to several MIMO configurations. Simulation results are provided for a 2 x 1 system with Alamouti space time block code, and for a 2 x 2 spatial multiplexing system with QPSK and 16QAM modulations leading to different spectral efficiency systems.
