Abstract:
Because of the limited processing power and memory constrained in low power devices like smart-cards, conventional cryptosystems cannot be incorporated unless it is especially designed. In this paper, we propose a symmetric key cryptosystem that supports 128-bit block size and 128-, 192- and 256-bit keys, the same specification of Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Design rationale of this scheme follows the most important criteria like confusion and diffusion. The scheme is more attractive for its high speed, cheap cost and easy implementation with desired level of security.
