Abstract:
This work investigates a hybrid modelling technique, which improves the conventional deterministic channel modelling in indoor environments. This calibration-based method derives the channel model for a particular environment, based only on a subset of measurement data. The derived hybrid model is valid for any other different subset of measurements. The model primarily predisposes, besides geometrically exact structures, typical building material parameters, which have been calibrated afterwards, using the measured and modelled power delay profiles (PDPs). This has been derived resolving a non-linear optimisation problem by means of simulated annealing. Moreover, the performance of the model has been evaluated by comparison with measurements collected within a large hall.
