Abstract:
The project MORYNE is part of the Sixth Framework Programme "eSafety", an initiative of the European Commission. It aims to contribute to greater transport efficiency, increased transport safety and more environmental friendly transport by improving traffic management in an urban and sub-urban area. MORYNE will provide an effective co-operative system by using public transport vehicles (e.g. buses) as elements of a network of mobile sensors communicating with the infrastructure, and by setting up co-operation between public transport operators and city traffic management. For the transmission of the sensor data an intelligent routing employs various radio systems. This paper focuses on the results of the system design phase, especially the system architecture.
