Abstract:
In this work we present a resource allocation algorithm with minimum rate requirements for a MISO-OFDM broadcast channel. This algorithm has a heuristic character and requires only low computational complexity and signaling overhead. It is based on a formerly proposed algorithm for single antenna systems and results in an allocation with up to two users per subcarrier. Due to the extension to MISO systems the throughput can be increased by exploiting the spatial diversity. The performance gains over both approaches for single antenna systems and an algorithm with only one user per subcarrier for a MISO system are demonstrated by simulation results. The simulations are based on the 3GPP spatial channel model and additionally demonstrate that even closely spaced base station antennas can provide enough spatial diversity for significant gains.
