Abstract:
This paper presents the study of compact polarimetric (CP) mode for SAR using the phased array antenna. CP mode can be realized without a special mechanism, only with two separate parts of the antenna in elevation which transmits different polarization respectively. The reconstruction algorithm processes the change of the phase between H- and V-polarizations. And the case study shows the feasibility, examples of the operation and the possible performance of CP mode using ALOS/PALSAR on orbit.
