Abstract:
In this paper we show results for 3-D radar imaging of a tropical forest scene at L and X-bands using height and surface topography generated from P-band POLInSAR data. The 3-D images are generated using a technique called coherence tomography that requires only one interferometric baseline to reconstruct the image. The technique relies on estimation of the coefficients of a truncated Fourier-Legendre expansion of the unknown but bounded vertical profile. These bounds are generated from P-band POLInSAR. We illustrate using airborne ESAR data from the Indrex-II campaign and show sample 3-D images at L and X-band to compare penetration depth.
