Abstract:
3D Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging (SAR Tomography) uses multiple views to profile the scattering in elevation. Conventional deterministic processing assumes accurate phase calibration and the absence of target decorrelation. This work analyzes the effects of stochastic phase miscalibration due to uncompensated atmospheric contribution and temporal decorrelation and proposes a 3D imaging technique based on Linear Minimum Mean square Error (LMMSE) approach. With reference to future bi- and multi-static systems, it permits an improved coherent integration of data acquired by simultaneous antenna in repeated passes.
