Abstract:
This paper presents the SAR Electronics Sub-system (SES) a part of the SAR instrument concept for the Sentinel-1 mission for GMES. It is presented in conjunction with the paper 'The CSAR Instrument Design and Performance for the GMES Sentinel-1 Mission'. This paper presents the design considerations and approach for SES which is based directly on the Astrium UK architecture and design concept of the Next Generation Core Radar Electronics Subsystem (NG CRESS). It focuses on the demands of the Mission requirements for a highly dependable delivery of quality radar data through a flexible and highly programmable architecture.
