Abstract:
In high resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images, backscattering may vary over the integration time. Such fluctuations provide additional information on the illuminated objects. A Time-Frequency Analysis (TFA) allows tracking of such instability for instance through a spectrogram. This method is developed in this paper in order to lead to a classification scheme of different backscattering behaviours. A base of canonical targets is identified and, from their TFA behaviours, a set of parameters has been defined which allows classification of pixels on this base. Moreover, classification performances are evaluated on real high resolution images.
