Abstract:
ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) generates a 2-D image by projecting 3-D target RCS distribution onto a plane spanned by relative position vector and relative motion vector between the target and the radar. If we keep observing the target long enough and consecutively generate multiple ISAR images, the target image varies considerably, since the image plane varies according to the change of the relative position and the motion of the target. In this paper, we call the set of consecutive ISAR images an ISAR movie, and we propose an algorithm to reconstruct 3-D target geometry using ISAR movie. We conduct experiments to verify the proposed algorithm.
