Abstract:
This paper presents a first part of research study dealing with the initialization of an information system on Radar Automatic Recognition(ATR) chain. This paper deals with the processing adopted for shape extraction from the 2D-presentation (image) in radar automatic target recognition field. The goal is to provide helpful information to human operator for target recognition. The methodology used to build step by step such radar ATR information system is based on artificial intelligence in following the knowledge discovery process from data (KDD process). We focused in this paper on the data preparation step, more precisely pre-processing of ISAR image and edge detection using snakes techniques.
