Abstract:
In this paper, we present a novel fast backprojection (FBP) algorithm for stripmap bistatic SAR, analyze and demonstrate its advantages and specialties by comparing with the traditional backprojection algorithm. This fast algorithm gets improvements from the decreasing of backprojection aperture length and simplification of delay calculation. Based on the bistatic SAR model, we establish the relation between the azimuth resolution and the backprojection aperture length; analyze the influence of upsampling factor and propose a range divided method to cut down the upsampling interpolation calculation amount. The imaging results using FBP for practical flying experiments also verify the FBP’s validities in real systems application.
