Abstract:
A system analysis of a 3-way shared amplifier is presented in this paper. The Butler matrices are based on a planar multilayer microstrip implementation of a 3-Way phase combiner. The linear analysis focusses on the measured performance of the coupler arrangement incorporating commercially available medium power driver amplifiers. In the nonlinear analysis, oddorder intermodulation products, AM-AM, AM-PM as well as crossmodulation is studied. The analysis concludes with a load pull and efficiency comparison.
