Abstract:
The design of a Δ-Σ modulator (DSM) for class-S amplifiers for 2 GHz signals with 8 GS/s sampling rate is presented, with particular focus on the stability condition. The results are supported by experiments using a bit-pattern generator. Furthermore, the statistic occurrence of binary symbols in the bit pattern is investigated and a statistical measure for the stability condition is deduced.
