In this article a complete analysis of UWB antennas with band notch capability will be presented. The aim of this article is to perform an electromagnetic study of the different UWB band notching techniques in order to investigate their impact on the antenna radiation pattern and gain pattern. From the performed analysis it will be possible to determine the technique that less influences the antenna radiation properties, and on the other hand, it will be also possible to evaluate how the antenna radiation pattern is influenced by the technique itself. From the presented comparison between different notching methods, the advantages and the disadvantages of the most common notching techniques will be determined.
