Abstract:
In this paper the influence of antennas and through-wall propagation is investigated regarding the achievable accuracy in UWB-localization and image quality in UWB-imaging systems. The performance of two well known positioning algorithms is tested in NLoS environment: Time of Arrival (ToA) and Angle of Arrival (AoA). The results are obtained from simulations and from measurements. Variation of different parameters of an obstacle is investigated and discussed. Subsequently measurements with two diverse wideband antennas are performed in order to show the influence caused by the antenna type.
