Abstract:
With the development of the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology for fast and comfortable data exchange between mobile and other devices new fields of application become available for mobile phones. In this paper we evaluate realistic application domains and present an implementation for a selected scenario: the exchange of contact data between mobile phones, which uses the Near Field Communication Interface and Protocol (NFCIP) for the contactless communication and the Personal Information Management API (according to JSR-75) for the address book access. Adjacent to a comparison to existing implementations with other technologies we discuss flaws of our application and cover possibilities for extending it in the future.
