Abstract:
Nowadays, engineers seek for simulation and test procedures closer to the system’s final operation regime. Actually, telecommunications signals are usually modulated and aperiodic. In this paper, a new closed formulation of Envelope Transient HB appropriate for transient and steady state analysis of nonlinear active microwave circuits and systems is proposed. Then it is applied to a WiMAX power amplifier and confirmed with other methods. Finally, using the proposed CAD, we considered the effect of the nonlinearity of the power amplifier when driven with a 16-QAM modulated signal on the system performance. Thus the Symbol Error Rate (SER) degradation, and constellation performance reduction for various input power levels is evaluated.
