This paper describes the generation process of nested Characteristic Basis Functions. These basis functions, which are generated by a recursive application of the conventional Characteristic Basis Function Method, enable a much higher compression of the reduced impedance matrix than the conventional CBFM. Several RCS computations are carried out to illustrate the performance and the accuracy of the method.
