Abstract:
Mutual coupling between the elements of an array has a destructive effect in DOA estimation. Several models have been proposed in the literature to tackle this problem. In this paper the performance of the models which are based on the estimation of the current distribution on the array element are evaluated and compared with each other. DOA estimation of vertical as well as horizontal polarized incoming signals using MUSIC algorithm is considered in this paper. It is shown that the model proposed by Hui has a better performance to compensate the mutual coupling in DOA estimation than the models introduced after Hui.
