Electromagnetic scattering by multiple homogeneous dielectric objects of arbitrary shape is solved by using the surface equivalence principle algorithm (EPA). The numerical properties of the algorithm, the accuracy of the solution and the convergence of the iterative solution, are studied by varying the permittivity contrast of the dielectric objects and the number and location of the equivalence principle surfaces enclosing the objects. In all considered EPA is found to lead to more efficient iterative solutions than the traditional method of moments formulations. However, both the solution accuracy and the convergence of the iterative solutions of EPA are found to depend strongly on the number of the equivalence surfaces.
