Abstract:
In this paper we propose a method to design the decoupling and matching network for the monopole four-square array antenna on a finite ground plane. It has been found that the mutual coupling of the antenna elements placed on a finite ground plane (chassis) depends strongly on the dimensions of the chassis. To model the chassis effects, in the second step, we designed an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) which allowed us to optimize the chassis size that leads to an even better result for the proposed decoupling network. In this way the optimization problem for this array antenna is introduced using the method of genetic algorithms.
