Abstract:
A pyramidal horn antenna fed by Dolph-Chebyshev amplitudes and equal phases via some adjacent H-plane coupled rectangular waveguides was simulated and measured. The simulation has been performed horn fed by 8 and by for 4 waveguides. Building and measuring were done for the 4 waveguides antenna. The measured gain of the horn fed by 4 waveguides was approximately 16 dBi, about 4 - 6 dB more than the gain of a conventional horn antenna having the same volume. The measured sidelobe level in the H-plane of this antenna was approximately 20 dB. Good agreement between simulation and measurement was achieved.
