Abstract:
The requirement for base station antenna is wideband and high gain. Moreover, the antenna should be small in order to ease the design conditions because many antennas are on the base station. On the other hand, base station antenna is covered by a cylindrical radome. Radome is used to protect the antenna element from weather and it requires a robust structure. Radome is usually composed of low permittivity substance. However, the loss and reflection due to radome change the antenna performance. Therefore, antenna design with radome effect is required in order to accommodate the influence of the radome. In this paper, a thin vertical polarization antenna for 800MHz band cellular system is designed.
