Abstract:
The broadband leaky-wave antenna based on tapered design and its diverging-focusing properties have been proposed end investigated in this paper. The tapered leaky-wave antenna (LWA) was designed, using a physical grounding structure along the length of the antenna to connect the conductor strip and the ground plane. The use of a physical grounding structure, allows to use only half of the structure, the adoption of a simple feeding, and the reduction of sidelobes. These performance can be improved, bending the tapered LWA. Moreover using the rayoptical model and the focusing property of LWA we can predict the main beam angle of tapered LWA.
