Abstract:
In this paper measurement and simulation results are presented for a millimeter wave (mm-wave) antenna, optimized for low-cost mass production in PCB technology. Therefore, a significant effort has gone into material characterization and assessment of the manufacturing resolution with the subsequent adaptation of the antenna topology. Different antenna topologies were realized on a single laminate with fixed feeding networks. Consequently, additional line measurements were performed to extract the S-parameters of the CPW to microstrip feeding structure. Return loss measurements of the antenna are demonstrated with and without de-embedding of the feeding structure.
