Abstract:
The inversion and the field summation methods are used to determine the effective permeability and permittivity of metamaterial structure. The S-parameters (for “Inversion Method”) and the field calculator (for “Field Summation”) simulated using commercial software are used to extract the effective parameters. A simple technique to realize a metamaterial substrate is proposed in this paper. A sample of metamaterial substrate is realized and measured. The results are compared to the simulation results obtained with the both methods (inversion and the field summation). The good agreement was found.
