Abstract:
This paper describes a novel Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) antenna design in Ku Band. This antenna is an 8 x 2 array composed by a waveguide feeding network in order to support high-level input power, and multilayer stack patches which are exited by electromagnetic coupling from the waveguide through a resonant iris with dumbbell shape. Both polarizations (linear horizontal and vertical) have been designed to achieve a polarimetric and interferometric sensor.
