Abstract:
Latest developments, concerning the performances of an adaptive beam steering antenna, are presented in this paper. In a previous breadboard the radiation control was altered above 1.7 GHz because of the inverse capacitance of the PIN diodes used. A new breadboard has been manufactured and tested with an optimized reconfigurable EBG material using new diodes and a modified structure. The measurements, in different configurations (single or multi beam), have been made and have shown the adaptive capabilities of the new antenna and a control of the radiation up to 2.8 GHz with a level of losses in the EBG material compatible with the foreseen application of the antenna.
