Abstract:
Based on two multicell measurement campaigns in Berlin and Dresden, correlation properties for channel parameters to different sites and to adjacent sectors of the same site are investigated. Results indicate that the assumptions in the widely used 3GPP spatial channel model (SCM) form an upper bound for the multicell correlations compared to our measurements. If the SCM is used to evaluate the performance of novel cooperative base station techniques, simulation results regarding the throughput can be considered as a lower bound for the capacity achievable in our measurement scenarios.
