Abstract:
Antenna model of a straight power line has been presented in the paper. The power line, as a part of Power Line Communication (PLC) system is excited by high frequency (HF) electric field. The induced current distribution along the overhead wire located above a finitely conducting ground has been assessed by solving the corresponding Pocklington integro-differential equation via analytical and numerical approach, respectively. Numerical solution is undertaken via TWiNS code based on the Galerkin-Bubnov variant of the Indirect Boundary Element Method (GB-IBEM). Some illustrative computational results are presented throughout this work.
