Abstract:
Within this contribution, we introduce a use case for two very large domain ontologies from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). We show the dynamics and figures of the IEC 61970 ontology and our approach to create an ontology for the IEC 61850 family. Problems with the use of those two ontologies are shown as well as open questions or solutions. The main focus is on the aspect of how to deal with changes to the ontologies using a mediation bridge between two standards.
