Abstract:
We present an everyday reminder system for older adults which is seamlessly integrated into their household. The paper focuses on the human-computer interaction design, applying new techniques to remind the resident beyond traditional graphical user interfaces, such as illumination, speech, and non-speech auditory output as well as vibration. It describes the utilized design approach, the developed interaction concept, and results of a first evaluation study.
