Abstract:
Most domestic energy use is invisible to the user, because there is no detailed feedback of energy consumption. But giving feedback to the user has some advantages, such as savings or strengthening of energy awareness. This paper presents a smartmetering system which allows the metering of single devices, groups of devices or complete electric circuits. The measured consumption of electricity is send to a server, where the information is used for home automation, hotspot detection and the generation of an energybalance which is provided to the users.
