Abstract:
In this paper we review the optical performance characteristics of a real-time 40G CP-QPSK transponder. An overview is given of the optical performance characteristics, such as optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) requirements, chromatic dispersion, differential group delay and polarization-mode dispersion tolerance.
