Abstract:
The comparative analysis of backscattering properties was performed for some natural surfaces at L and VHF bands. Airborne SAR "Compact" was mounted on board of helicopter platform. L and VHF band observations were performed simultaneously, at the same conditions, for the several test sites equipped with calibrated corner reflectors. Reflectors were calibrated at L and VHF bands; at VV and HH polarizations. RCS angular dependences of reflectors for every band were measured. SAR images for different bands are demonstrated. Backscattering coefficients for natural surfaces at the same observation conditions for L and VHF band were calculated using SAR images. Frequency dependent differences at SAR images are clearly seen and discussed.
