Abstract:
The paper describes the first results of ground-based noise SAR experiments carried out at Warsaw University of Technology. The radar system was built with Commercial Off-The-Shelf components: patch antennas, an arbitrary waveform generator and a two-channel spectrum analyzer. It operated in a stop-and-go mode with a limited aperture. In order to obtain better range resolution, bandwidth synthesis was performed using stepped-frequency approach. The aim of the experiment was to create an image of a real radar scenery in a SAR. The paper shows the system setup, signal processing stage and the results obtained with the recorded signals.
