Abstract:
This paper considers scattering mechanism decomposition for POLSAR and POL-InSAR data by using independent component analysis (ICA). The scattering mechanism decomposition is one of the powerful techniques to analyze terrain surface. Eigendecomposition based techniques such as entropy and anisotropy, and also model based technique, Freeman decomposition, are widely used. Unlike the eigenanalysis, the decomposed vector set by the ICA is not orthogonal with each other. This feature of the technique will have the potential to extract new feature which cannot discriminate by the conventional techniques. In this paper, we will provide fundamental study on ICA analysis.
